Traveling to Andes in Summer Time

What comes to your mind when you hear about "Traveling to Andes" on Summer time?

First thing first, Andes? Where is it? Before, I thought it's somewhere in India or around Himalaya. It's not. Andes is located in South America.

South America. Ok. Then next thing ... no Snow?  Plain, then what to see?

The "plain" feeling soon changed when I reached there last December.

I was there for 3 months  project in Santiago. Apparently  in southern Hemisphere, it's not winter that you'll see at the end of the year over there. Instead, it's hot scorching summer in Chile.

Since I could not wait 'till winter, I decided to check what the available tour to Andes, and  some of them really did offered services to Andes.

So after several calls, I, along with some friends, decided to  pick one of the tours which providing full day tour to Andes.

It costs us 33000 chilean peso (40 euro) per person. The tour package included the trip of Valle Nevado, Farellones, and La Parva.

On the way to Farellones (36 km from Santiago, where the Ski Resort is located), we met this cute fellow below :

We also had a stop before reaching Farellones. A seeing of morning breeze from Andes.

When we reached  Farellones, the place was empty. We could find no one there. Since there was no activity during summer :(. What a bummer. We felt a bit down at that time. Hesitantly thinking, was it the right time  to visit Andes?

In the winter time,  Farellones will be full of people enjoying skiing and tube sliding. Seemed like we picked the wrong moment. What to do? Let's just take some pics then :D.

Look, it's simply ... nothing :(.

From Farellones, we were heading toward Colorado Ski Resort. The place was much bigger than Farellones, but same situation! There were  no activity in the summer time :(.

We should knew by the name at the first time ... Ski Resort. Ski, Dude! What did we expect on summer? Hahaha :p.

At least, we met some living things this time. A few cows, which seemed to be the only living being in that place at that time. Oh well...

 These cows were good at climbing down the steep landscape. Perhaps, they've been  being  accustomed with the condition in Andes. They should.

As not much things happening in Farellones and El Colorado, after roaming around to take few shoots, we went ahead  to La Parva. Fortunately, this time ... things started to get really excited.
